Gort Publishers publishes a new novel by Ilja Gort almost every year. The first four books – De Geluksvogel (The Lucky One), De Vrouwenslagerij (The Women’s Butcher Shop), De Vulkaan (The Volcano) and De Druivenfluisteraar (The Grape Whisperer) – his so-called ‘French novels’. 

This was followed by a four-part trilogy about the Abel, an eternal optimist, and his resolute wife Angela, who are buying a vineyard in the south of France. Godendrank (Nectar of the Gods) was the first part, followed by Bed en breakfast (Bed and Breakfast).Next came part three, Vrije Vogels (Free Spirits) and a year later the fourth and final part of the trilogy De Hemel (The Heaven). Each book can also be enjoyed perfectly well on its own.
In 2024, the bestseller De Flessentrekker (The Vintage Swindler)appeared, followed by Château Migraine (2025).

In 2026, Ilja Gort was commissioned by CPNB, the Dutch book industry's national organisation for book promotion, to write its annual Zomerlezengeschenk (Summer Reading Gift), a specially commissioned book distributed nationwide through bookshops during its summer reading campaign. That resulted in Petit Café du Bonheur,a novel about a Dutch woman who buys a neglected café in a Provençal village. Its sequel, Grand Café du Malheur,appeared at the same time and became a bestseller, reaching number one in the Dutch Bestseller 60.
